Abstract

This systematic review assessed the available evidence of Chinese herbal formulae containing Suanzaoren (FSZR) for insomnia. Analysis of clinical trials showed that FSZR is associated with short-term patient-reported sleep quality improvements among individuals with insomnia. The sedative-hypnotic effects are primarily mediated through GABAergic and serotonergic systems.
