What Is Xuan Shen
Xuan Shen (Radix Scrophulariae) is the dried root of Scrophularia ningpoensis Hemsl., a perennial herbaceous plant in the family Scrophulariaceae (figwort family). Habitat and cultivation: S. ningpoensis is native to China and is distributed across the provinces of Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangsu, Hunan, Hubei, Jiangxi, and Sichuan.
